Tough times continue at Taiwan's science parks
Taiwan’s three largest science parks combined revenues are down just over 5% for the first half of 2012. Hsinchu Science Park, Central Taiwan Science Park and Southern Taiwan Science Park had a combined total revenue of NT$908.8 billion in the first half of this year according to Taiwan's National Science Commission (NSC). Note $1 US = NT$29.3 approximately.
Hsinchu Science Park reported revenue of NT$485.2 billion for the first 6 months, down just over 5% from last year. 5.3% from a year ago.
Central Taiwan Science Park reported revenue of NT$138.9 billion for the same period, dropping 10% year on year. This is in stark contrast to an earlier report where the park was claiming increased revenue. The park’s full-year revenue is estimated at NT$300 billion.
Southern Taiwan Science Park had NT$284.713 billion revenue, down a bit over 2% year on year.
