Taiwan's Taichung Software Park gets first investors
Taichung Software Park, a new science park under construction in central Taiwan, has signed letters of interest with nine investors.
The investors include Dayong Development Ltd., Kong Chou Construction Co., Ltd., Fego Precision Industrial Co., Ltd., Integrated Services of Quality Assessment, BINGOTIMES Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and several software developers. Initial investments by the nine firms and organizations operating in the park exceeds NT$2 billion (about US$68million).
The government of Taiwan seems to be going after software tech parks in a big way. The Accelerator Gazette previously reported on a similar sized investment from giant Hon Hai Group in Kaohsiung Software Technology Park in southern Taiwan.
Taichung Software Park will occupy almost 5 hectares and should open its doors in August, 2013.
