Porton science park gets £10million kickstart

Plans for UK-based Porton Science Park have taken a big step forward thanks  to winning  £10million of UK government funding for the project which will cost at least £180million by the time it's completed. It is expected to open its doors for its first clients in about 18 months.

The £10million was awarded by the UK government's £1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund. The park is being developed by Wiltshire County Council and a development company. The initital funds will be used for infrastructure and an Innovation Centre. The rest of the funding for the park will come from the private sector but this first £10million may help kickstart bringing the private sector on board.
