Hyperdrive demo day (and more)
Communitech's Hyperdrive seed accelerator had its demo day Friday at the Tannery in downtown Kitchener Canada. Communitech also had a number of companies pitch to the audience that it supports through it's venture services program. The event was competely full and standing room only with an overflow crowd. Here are a few pictures that try to capture the spirit of the event (unfortunately taken in a dark(ish) environment with my mobile phone camera.
At the top in the far, far distance (I said it was crowded!) is Jeff Nugent, CEO of Simplicity VMS presenting his cloud-based platform for end-to-end management of temporary staff. Nugent's company is part of the first Hyperdrive cohort.
Next is Michael Litt of Vidyard presenting his company. 10 points to Michael for presenting in lederhosen in the spirit of Techtoberfest. Vidyard is one of the many companies that Communitech helps through its venture services program.
Heavy duty networking and food always go together. Below, Iain Klugmann, head of Communitech, is on the left looking at the lunch crowd. I saw deals being made so the event so far has been a real success. The day isn't over. You can catch the livestream here: http://hosting.desire2learncapture.com/Communitech/1/live/41.aspx
