High stakes MassChallenge awards ceremony tonight

You've read a lot about MassChallenge in these pages. MassChallenge describes itself as the “largest-ever startup accelerator and competition” with $1.1 million in cash to startups and no equity stake needed in return. Over 1200 startups applied from all over the world and 26 finalists were announced earlier this month. The final award ceremony is tonight at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center starting at 6:30pm. One of those startups will probably have a very big party afterwards.

Knight named president of RocketSpace

San Francisco's RocketSpace accelerator has named Karl Knight as its new president and chief financial officer. Knight was previously the managing director of Recurrent Energy and before that was CFO at Regenesis Power. Knight joins CEO Duncan Logan, COO Todd Elsberg, CRO (chief revenue officer) Eryc Branham on RocketSpace's management team. That's a lot of chiefs. Knight will be responsible for RocketSpace’s finances and strategy.
