Entrepreneurs at Purdue Research Park win award

Legacy Environmental Services Inc, a consulting firm at the Purdue Research Park, has won the 2012 Quality of Life Outstanding Achievement Award  for improving the quality of life in Northwest Indiana. The award was presented by  One Region, a northwest Indiana nonprofit organization. 

Lorrie Lisek, co-founder of Legacy Environmental Services, said the goal of the company is to play a role in creating a more sustainable future for Indiana. Lisek said Legacy Environmental Services has received support at the local, state and national level.
 
"[co-founder] Carl and I want to strengthen the state's reputation as a good place to live and work by helping communities, schools and businesses identify and implement cost-saving, sustainable, green initiatives and practices," she said. "Our work with our clients has led to a significant reduction in air pollution, an increased use of alternative fuel vehicles and almost $20 million in grant funding to implement other green, sustainable initiatives
 
The Purdue Research Park has the largest university-affiliated business incubation complex in the USA and is based in four locations across Indiana.
