Dublin’s Digit Game Studios welcomes its first startups
Digit Game Studios, which recently launched Ireland’s largest indie games studio in Dublin, has announced the two startups that will part of its first incubator program.
Batcat Games was founded earlier this year. They’ve already released one game, P-3 Biotic, on Xbox and PC.
Bitsmith Games is working on their first game Kú, built for touch-based devices.
Both recently received funding from Enterprise Ireland (EI), an organization that supports the development and growth of Irish companies worldwide.
"The first high potential teams to move into Digit's incubator, Bitsmith and Batcat, not only get access to purpose built office space but also access to mentoring from the Digit team, the most experienced games development team in the country,” said Digit’s CEO Richard Barnwell in a release. “We are not an accelerator offering investment for equity; instead we are looking to continue the great initiatives already in place from EI by giving game startups the biggest chance of success."
Digit Game Studios is a VC-backed developer and publisher of cross platform games. They launched their incubator program back in June.
Digit is hoping to eventually match the success of established indie game studios, like Kabam and Kixeye in the U.S.
