Berlin's hub:raum launches accelerator program

General Assembly (GA) and betahaus have teamed up with hub:raum, Deutsche Telekom’s seed stage incubator, to launch an 8-week accelerator program for web, digital media and mobile companies.

Startups will work with GA instructors out of betahaus' co-working space in Berlin (Berlin-Kreuzberg). At the end of the eight weeks, they'll pitch to VCs, angel investors and the hub:raum team. The goal is to get funding or acceptance into hub:raum's full incubator program.

Another bonus? The accelerator program is free and startups don't have to give up any equity.

hub:raum announced the first five startups participating in the program at the HY Berlin Startup Competition late last week. One of those startups, Toywheel, also won the competiton and the €10,000 prize (which also includes a trip to Silicon Valley).

The four other startups accepted into hub:raum's program are: Eisenhower, Scolibri, Stylemarks and railsonfire. The accelerator says they'll be announcing more startups later this week.

The program, as we mentioned earlier, is eight weeks long and is set to begin November 19th. Due to the Christmas holidays, the program will take a little hiatus starting December 14th, picking up again on January 7th. Graduation Day is January 31st.
